I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord."
What to expect...
You know, it can be a bit unnerving, going to a new place, meeting new people; not knowing exactly the procedure or what's expected from you. Well, we at The City of the Lord know that, and we want you...to just relax. You see, at The City of the Lord, we're all about God. But God...is all about people.
So...you arrive at the parking lot; you take a breath...and come in. And, what do you find? Well, on Sunday mornings (service starts at 10:30, so come a little earlier than that) as you come through the doors, you'll see off to the left a little coffee nook and some smiling people who are glad to see you. If you are so inclined, have a cup and introductions can be made. You'll find these folk are full of information: where kids should go, where the sanctuary is, bathroom locations, etc.
At around 10:30 the service will begin. The pastor will go to the podium, greet the congregation, and with the first song people will say hello to one another (we're a friendly bunch) and those with an offering will have the opportunity to bring it to the front. Worship will continue and, as we focus on the Lord, He'll meet with us. It's not unusual, after awhile, for the Pastor to share what God has placed on his heart. And, as we fellowship with the Lord, hear His word, and open ourselves up to Him; He'll do a work in us.
So, come, come to The City of the Lord. Maybe you have "church" experience; maybe you don't. Either way you'll discover when you come here that The City of the Lord...is just that; it's a place where God dwells and meets with people. People...just like you.
